All things must pass, and so it has
come time to remove my trusty Datsun 510 from its Daily Driver
status. What to replace it with? How about a World-Rally-Championship-proven
Subaru? World Rally Championship? Subaru? Try three consecutive
Manufacturer's Titles.
Subaru indeed. They have brought a
limited edition car to the US, and I have one of two-thousand
made for Model Year 2000. All Wheel Drive, 165 horsepower, a limited-slip
rear differential, and a sport-tuned chassis all cinched the deal
for me. Driving it off the lot with 8 miles on the odometer made
the month-long wait for the slow boat from Japan worth it.
