Well, what do you think? Are we headed in the right direction? Not sure on this choice of finish though. We'll see after it's sanded in the morning. The product I used on this is called SYNKO Interior/Exterior Lightweight Spacklling Paste. I bought 32 oz. / 1 quart, but only used a little more than half of it. The guy at the paint store said not to mix with water or acrylic paint as it would be unmanageable. Instead, he used regular concentrated paint pigment and mixed it right in for me. The color combination was I-6 and C-12 for a terra cotta color from the paint chip. Not sure what those mean, but the color came out about right for gingerbread. Could have been a little lighter, maybe.

The image on your left is a sanded version of the above. Didn't turn out like I'd hoped, so in the second image, an application of a somewhat diluted spackling was applied. Two drops maximum water was put in, and then I sponged the paste on with a small sea sponge. The next morning, I lightly sanded with 600 grit sanding film, as I didn't want a lot off, but I didn't like the looks of it then, so sponged the paste back on and that's how it's going to remain. Once the windows and window boxes are on, I think it will be just fine.
